Joseph Brunette is a multiple award-winning cinematographer with over 15 years experience shooting independent documentary films and programming for major US broadcasters including National Geographic, CNN, PBS: NOVA and Nature, Discovery, Animal Planet, and numerous marquee specials for History.
Whether the subject is scientists working at the forefront of climate change in Antarctica, new archaeological discoveries of ancient civilizations in the jungles of Guatemala, subsistence lifestyles deep within Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, or modern childbirth practices in Rwanda, Brunette is always looking to frame images that will bring the emotional, character-driven heart of any compelling narrative to life.
In the world of independent film, his recent feature length documentary, “The Last Pig” won several international awards including Best Documentary at the Japan Wildlife Film Festival, the Innsbruck Nature Film Fest in Austria, and the Emerge Film Festival in Maine, in addition to being a finalist at the prestigious Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.
